Library
of
Congress
The Library of Congress assigns every submitted book a unique Library of Congress (LoC) number. This number is placed on the copyright page of a book. AFTER the book is printed, we need to send LoC a copy of the print book. More LoC Info here
Bowker
ISBN
Every version of every book has a unique ISBN (International Standard Book Number). So a print book has one number and the eBook of the same book has a different number. We had to buy 100 ISBNs from Bowker. As we create a book, we assign it an ISBN and fill out a form on Bowker for the book. More on ISBN/Bowker here.
Ingram
